Cinnamom And Its Health Benefits


The Latin name of cinammom is Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Cinamomum saigonicum
The Common Names of cinnamom are  Saigon cinnamon, Ceylon cinnamon, Dalcini, Gui, Twak, Yueh-kuei

Cinnamom commonly known as “Dalchini” in India is very widely used as a spice in everyday life.

The main spices used in India are black pepper, cinammom, cloves and red chilies

Spicy Cinammom also has many beneficial properties like antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal.  Cinnamom is also rich in calcium, iron, fiber and manganese

Cinnamom is known to reduce the level of sugar in the blood and helps to increase the production of insulin naturally. But that does not mean you can stop your diabetes medication and start taking cinnamom.
You can use cinnamon as a supplement, and this is a safe and effective way to add cinnamon into your diet.
There are many different ways you can enjoy this spice.
You can make an herbal tea by adding   1 tsp (5 mL) cinnamon to one cup of (250 mL) boiling water. Stir and steep for 5 minutes. Add 1 tsp (5 mL) honey and enjoy warm.
Add more flavor to your breakfast cereal or oatmeal or muesli by adding cinnamom to it.
You can also sprinkle some cinnamom powder on your toast.
If you like its flavor and aroma, you can add it to your t tea, coffee or cocoa.
Cinnamon helps to reduce the level of cholesterol by taking half teaspoon of cinnamon per day.
Cinnamom also has anticlotting properties, so cinnamon supplements shouldn't be taken with blood thinning medication, such as Coumadin (warfarin), Aspirin or by people with bleeding disorders or cardiac problems.
Every morning half teaspoon of cinnamom powder with honey if taken for a week gives considerable relief in arthritis pain and one could find relief in pain within one month
